Our S.W.E.A.T. Program is proud have a partnership with TS Performance Training to properly train our athletes. Tom Labonville has trained youth through professional athletes to maximize athletic improvement for the past four years. His teaching philosophy incorporates the latest research published by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and he draws on ideas from industry leaders. Tom's goal in working with athletes is to teach proper running mechanics especially in short explosive bursts of acceleration, increase core strength and coordination, and increase overall body strength and explosiveness. The training is geared to help athletes control their own bodies, help them perform at a higher level, and improve injury resilience. Tom's experience and expertise is a great addition to our S.W.E.A.T. Staff.
Training is set up in 8 week macro sessions that meet two days a week for a total of 16 classes. The goal of each 8 week session is to improve athletic performance by improving overall strength, explosiveness, coordination and develop proper movement mechanics. Each class within the session follows the same layout and as athletes begin to learn and improve, they are challenged with more intense training and more advanced movement drills. The basic layout for the 16 classes is set up into 4 phases: 1) classes start with a warm-up, working on muscle temperature, joint range of motion, and body alignment. 2) classes move on to plyometric and coordination training while the nervous system is in a non fatigued state. 3) classes then transition to movement mechanics training (knee punch, torso position, foot strike, and hip extension). 4) classes finish with strength or conditioning or a combination of both before a cool down.
